Fair Skies Nation announces 2018 Milton candidate endorsements
Candidates present and respond on plane pollution and noise at April 5th candidate forum in Milton
On April 5, 2018, Fair Skies Nation held a local candidate forum for the public that focused on candidate knowledge, interest, and proposed solutions to the noise and particulate pollution problem from low-flying concentrated flights in and out of Logan Airport that continue to plague Milton and the rest of the country. Three town-wide candidates presented their recommendations for mitigating the problem.
All town-wide local candidates for Town of Milton election on April 24th were invited to participate in the forum by presenting their concerns about excessive airplane pollution and noise over Milton and to answer a series of questions posed by FSN members and the audience about how they will address the plane problems in their newly elected positions.
The Fair Skies Nation board found all candidate participants demonstrated impressive knowledge and concern about the urgent need to resolve the problem facing Milton residents and millions of other Americans who live under the constant barrage of the concentrated highway in our skies. All candidates spoke of the need for unity locally, regionally, and nationally by organizing and joining together with other concerned groups and elected officials at all levels of government.? The FSN board also found all of the candidate presentations to be unusually candid, careful, knowledgeable, and showing keen interest in working toward resolution by uniting residents within the Town and collaborating with other communities regionally and nationally.
All candidates spoke of the need for unity locally, regionally, and nationally by organizing and joining together with other concerned groups and elected officials at all levels of government.
For these reasons, the Fair Skies Nation Board voted to enthusiastically place its endorsement for election to the Milton Board of Selectmen on Mrs. Collins and Mr. Zullas and on Mr. Donahue for the Milton School Committee.
We thank them for their thoughtful presentations and responses, and we applaud their exemplary contributions to the public interest concerning this most serious problem facing many Milton residents and millions more Americans.
